Caduceus

Caduceus is the herald’s staff, carried by Hermes, the winged messenger of Greek gods He cast his wand between two fighting serpents who coiled themselves around it and came to peace. Caduceus shows opposing forces held in balance and a healing union of opposites. Legend is that the staff could put mortals to sleep or wake them from slumber. It has come to represent medicine and healing.
